Free Shuttle Returns for the Summer

For the second year in a row, a free weekend shuttle will operate this summer, delivering passengers between stops in T or C and the businesses and beaches of Elephant Butte.

Two white vans adorned with ‘The Shuttle’ blue logo will operate between 3:15 and 11:45pm on Fridays and Saturdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with bonus shuttles on holiday weekend Sundays (May 27, July 1, July 8, September 2).

As an improvement over last year’s orange construction barrels, this year’s stops are indicated by white and blue ‘The Shuttle’  signs.

Two routes will operate. The ‘Red Line’ will perform a loop of business stops in T or C and Elephant Butte, while the Blue Line will make several stops on the beaches of Elephant Butte Lake State Park. A printable schedule is available.

The downtown T or C stop is on Foch across from El Faro, providing riders easy access to the brewery, shops, restaurants, and the movie theater.

The free service is funded and organized by Sierra County, the City of Truth or Consequences, the City of Elephant Butte, New Mexico State Parks, the Moose, and MainStreet Truth or Consequences.

The goals of the shuttle are to reduce DWI arrests, improve public safety,  increase economic activity, and provide a valuable convenience to locals and visitors alike.
