MainStreet T or C Seeks Community Leaders

MainStreet Truth or Consequences, a nonprofit organization focused on downtown revitalization, today announced a fall recruiting drive. Community leaders who care about preserving and improving the historic hot springs district of downtown Truth or Consequences are encouraged to make contact.


The organization has a variety of volunteer needs, including:

  • Interviewing business owners
  • Painting buildings
  • Organizing volunteers
  • Cleaning up buildings
  • Event setup and cleanup
  • Talking to supporters
  • Fundraising
  • Office work
  • Research
  • Producing events
  • Website management
  • Internet research
  • Policy/legal analysis
  • Talking to artists
  • Talking to business owners
  • Photography
  • Social media
  • Filling out reports
  • Collating invoices and receipts
  • Host/greeter at events
  • Database management
  • Attending city meetings
  • Staffing an info desk
  • Running errands
  • Leading parades
  • Organizing vendors
  • Writing thank you notes
  • Writing articles
  • Bookkeeping
  • Project management

The organization seeks committed volunteers whether interested in showing up to help on the day of a single event, or longer term leadership to help define the priorities of the organization.

MainStreet T or C is a 10-year-old organization with a history of downtown successes, including programs and events like Second Saturday Art Hop, Customer Service Training, Business Development Speaker Series, Artists’ Deck of Cards, Old-Fashioned Christmas, Trick or Treat Downtown, Hot Springs Festival, and continuously serving as a resource to local entrepreneurs and visitors interested in relocating. Among MainStreet’s most visible downtown improvement projects are Healing Waters Plaza, numerous sidewalks repaired and buildings painted, new benches and trash cans, and soon, a newly designed Foch Street.
