Spaceport America: The Firefighter/EMT/Guard performs responsible service work in emergency and protective services; does related security guard work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of a shift supervisor.
Typical Tasks
- Responds to alarms; Drives & operates equipment & related apparatus; Assists in the suppression of fires, including aircraft rescue/firefighting, technical rescue, advancing lines, entry, ventilation and salvage work, wild-land fires, extrication and emergency medical care of victims.
- Responsible for performing all necessary testing related to OSHA, ISO, NFPA & other applicable standards.
- Makes fire code inspections of commercial buildings and prepares pre-fire plans.
- Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls, inspects for gas leaks, secures vehicle accidents, etc.
