Bowling Alley to Reopen With New Look, New Owners

On September 19th, Truth or Consequences Brewing Company purchased the entertainment complex associated with Point Blanc Winery and Bedroxx Bowling Center in T or C. Renamed “Sidekixx”, the new owners say they intend to continue the original vision of providing a family-friendly entertainment space. The facility will be closed for approximately three weeks as paperwork gets processed and the new owners make updates and enhancements. Re-opening day for the restaurant is currently planned for Friday, October 7th, 2022, with updates to be published via Facebook. The lanes will open for bowling later this year.

Brewery CEO Marianne Blaue said, “The importance of Gary Whitehead’s stewardship of this community space can’t be overstated. When we heard he was thinking about selling it, we knew that whoever bought it needed to keep that stewardship in mind and continue the vision that Gary brought to the table.”

John Masterson, Blaue’s husband and Chief Beer Officer at the brewery, added, “We’re in the business of making great beer and making people happy. You know what makes people happy? Great pizza, games, live music, and bowling.”

Besides changing the name, the new owners say they intend to keep the menu and most elements of Point Blanc/Bedroxx the same, with a few upgrades and enhancements. Without committing to a timeline, Masterson said these enhancements could eventually include local delivery (of food and alcohol), New Mexico-produced liquor, more arcade games, and regular live music.

Most of the restaurant’s current team will make the transition to the new employer. Community members seeking employment with the new operation can review the brewery’s job page. Point Blanc Winery will cease operations for the foreseeable future.

Masterson and Blaue opened the brewery in downtown T or C in 2017, and added a satellite taproom on Lohman Avenue in Las Cruces in 2020. The New Mexico Small Brewers License allows for a single beer production facility and up to three satellite taprooms.
