LAS CRUCES – Shoppers throughout New Mexico will get to save money on certain purchases — including clothes, school supplies and computers — this weekend as the state’s annual tax holiday gets underway.
Since 2005, retailers throughout the state have not been required to collect gross receipt taxes on qualifying items during the first weekend in August. This year, the savings began at 12:01 a.m. Friday and will continue until midnight Sunday, according to state Taxation and Revenue Department.
