Expired Solar Energy Tax Credit Before House Committee

On Monday January 23rd, 2017, HB61 will be heard by the House Labor and Economic Development Committee.

The bill would extend an expiring tax credit offered on solar energy installations, gradually reducing the credit from 10% to nothing in ten years.

The bill is sponsored by Democrat Miguel Garcia and Republican Sarah Maestas Barnes.

Representative Rebecca Dow (R – Truth or Consequences) sits on the committee.

AN ACT RELATING TO TAXATION; EXTENDING THE SOLAR MARKET DEVELOPMENT TAX CREDIT; INCREMENTALLY REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF THE CREDIT; COMBINING THE SOLAR THERMAL SYSTEMS AND PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS AGGREGATE CAPS INTO ONE AGGREGATE CAP.
