“Meteoric” Film Festival Oct 18-20

It’s almost showtime!  Come to Truth or Consequences, NM October 18, 19 & 20, 2019 and enjoy 9 featured films,  2 workshops, 5 community events, 4 live shows, and inspiring light and sound installations all over downtown.

The weekend is free for all! We are entirely volunteer run and dedicated to envisioning what a community led festival can be. We are selling $5 raffle tickets with the chance of winning wonderful prizes from TorC businesses, including a hike on Ted Turner’s ranch and four hours of recording studio time. Your registration and ticket purchases will go to supporting artists and raising funds for next year. Get your tickets today at 108 Main, Desert Archaic, and the October Farmer’s Markets before the event.  

See amazing films all afternoon Friday, all afternoon and evening Saturday, and Sunday afternoon.  All the films are at the Spaceport Visitor’s Center.

Attend workshops Saturday 2p-4:30p on Acting for the Camera with Mark Vasconcellos. Get on record from 4:30p-6p with Bob Baxter Casting.   

All workshops are at the newly relaunched gorgeous Austin Arts Community. 

Friday 4p-6p is an Open House Happy Hour of the newly relaunched Starry Night Artist Retreat. Come say hi to Kate Keke Hall and plan your artist’s stay. 

Friday night 6p-9p is our Community Intergalactic Potluck and Performance on Healing Water’s Plaza, presented by Cosmic Turtle Sound Studio. Our awesome grocery store Bullocks will be running a cash bar. Meet and Greet is from 6p-6:45p, bring a dish to share. Enjoy TorC’s own improvisational space rock collective Soundworms performing from 6:45p-8p. New World Drummer’s take the stage until 9p. Late night head over to Bedroxx Bowling Alley for Trash Disco Bowl Bash with Friends of New Mexico Film from 10p to Midnight.   

Saturday night 6p-9p is our Meteoric Carnival with sound and light art installations all throughout downtown – performers and observers alike! 

Dress up in light and sound costumes for community-wide events both nights.
