On Wednesday, the City Commission of Truth or Consequences voted unanimously to select “Option B” for the redesign of Foch Street between Main and Broadway.
Option B retains the two-way street and improves parking and pedestrian amenities significantly.
The design was one of three options provided by MRWM, the architectural firm charged with redesigning the street in association with a grant received by MainStreet Truth or Consequences. The design process was informed by two well-attended public meetings and scores of emails and calls from the community. The final decision fell to the city commissioners following a presentation of the public process by City Manager Morris Madrid.
MRWM can now proceed with generating the engineering and technical documentation required to make the project “shovel-ready”. The city and MainStreet will begin seeking the funding to implement the new design.
